Is Unforgiveness Blocking Your Blessings?

Unforgiveness is another sin that will cause hindrance to receiving breakthrough. In fact, I personally believe this is one of the main reasons many saints stay stuck!

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses: 
Mark 11:26
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 
Matt 6:14

Unforgiveness can cause such a blockage in the spiritual realm. As stated before, what happens in the natural is a direct reflection of what first takes place in the spirit realm. Heaven’s gates can be closed over you if you do not forgive.

YOU NEED THE GRACE OF GOD: AND THE PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING WILL RULE AND REST IN YOUR HEART TO TRULY FORGIVE.

I have read and heard of countless stories and testimonies of others that were healed after they forgave the person who had wronged them. In fact, some of the testimony’s of healing came as the person was being ministered to. After the minister asked them to forgive, and that person forgave, God was able to come in an instantly bring manifestation to that person! How amazing is that? Unforgiveness hurts you; it can cause illness and sickness in the body and all kinds of disease in the body to manifest. I have heard and read of many accounts where someone had been praying for a healing in their body and when asked the question about unforgiveness, they would say, “Yes. So and so,” and then after they forgave that person they would be healed.

When we do not forgive, we remit sins in our body. In other words, to a certain degree we hold someone else (sin) hostage in our bodies. It may sound weird but it is so. Have you ever noticed (many) women suffer a great deal of sickness in the abdomen area. The abdomen area is also the center of “The Emotions.” If many women who have suffered a great deal of pain in this area trace back what they will discover is that many of them were inflicted in some way by a male who took advantage of them or there was sin of some sort inflicted upon them.

No, not all sickness is caused by what was mentioned above, and I share this because we have to be careful to not call everything a demon but they are listed to shed light in hope of deliverance and freedom!

John 20:23 Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained

Let me list some examples.

THE SIN- Rape, Molestation, Adultery, Incest, and (forced) Prostitution

THE SICKNESS- Female Problems, Infertility, Digestive Problems, Stomach Problems

Your lack of forgiveness in this area is allowing sin to be remitted, or retained in this area, and if that sin is not forgiven, sickness begins to manifest in your body.

Unforgiveness defined [From a natural perspective] Giving up the Hope that the past will be different.

No matter how much we think it is going to change it is not. Personally, I do believe God can come in and heal emotional scars that are so attached to the event that took place in your life to the point where it will feel like you didn't experience it but for the most part, memories will be there. Unforgiveness can cause a huge blockage from receiving breakthroughs, Forgiveness is not for the other person the person who committed the wrong but it is for you. False Expectations and trust in many can cause such a blow when we put our faith and trust in man and they let us down. Don’t get me wrong, we should be faithful, we should be committed we shouldn't abuse, misuse, mistreat, harm, hurt, kill others (even with our words) reject others but beloved we aren’t perfect. The same measure we want others to forgive us when we have wronged someone knowingly or unknowingly should be to the same degree we should long to forgive our offenders.

Frequently, we are walking about with grudges and the people we are angry with are not aware, they have gone on with their life and our blessings are being blocked. While you are fasting for your breakthrough after repentance, this is one of the main areas of focus during the fast so that you can release anyone you are holding in bondage or who you are allowing you to be held in bondage because you are not forgiving them.

Unforgiviness…. Paralyzes you, stifles you, hinders you and keeps you immobile! Unforgiveness Causes Delusion. 

It’s like being placed under a dark cloud. You can’t see straight or think clearly. It is a TIME STEALER and a TIME TAKER. It takes and steals precious days, weeks, months and even years from the lives of others all the time.

Unforgiveness is like giving someone else poison and expecting them to die yet all along you are slowly and inwardly dying.

Frequently, those we love the most are the ones who often wound us the most! Why? Because we are also most vulnerable to them. These include our spouses, our parents, children, siblings, relatives, in-laws, friends, pastors, co-workers, teachers, coaches. We love them deeply, and as soon as one of them wrongs us intentionally or unintentionally, in many ways, the wounds go very deep. They may not be aware that they have caused a wound of some sort and the wound may even cut to the core. Many times, it is spiritual and we have to look at things from a spiritual standpoint for many of the battles we face with others are spiritual battles. The enemy has used this and will continue to use our emotions to draw wedges between our relationships. Many of the battles we face, be it those who we love most or those who we rarely know, are not “fleshy battles.” In other words, there is a spirit behind the individual that may cause you to get upset with the person. We serve a God that can heal every scar, every wound, every hurt associated with the pain and memory.

A few ways to detect if you have unforgiveness in your heart towards an individual

1)      If every time you see that individual OR think about that person all sort of “Bad Emotions” and “feelings” arise.

2)      You see and think nothing good about this individual.

3)      Repeatedly thoughts of how the person wronged you keeps coming to mind.

4)      If the person has apologized about the particular wrong, yet you still keep reminding them.

5)      Unforgiveness always alienates, divides and separates.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are in a situation where an individual continues to inflict harm thereby making it hard to forgive because the sin is constantly being inflicted you must keep your heart before the Lord and cry out to him for HELP, PROTECTION and FREEDOM.

Examples:

A PERSON THAT IS BEING CHEATED on repeatedly; 

A PERSON THAT IS ABUSED repeatedly; Some Sin that is repeatedly  being inflicted upon you.

I’ve listed some definitions below that will help your understanding as we touch on forgiveness and unforgiveness with the hopes that it may allow you to have a clearer understanding.

REMIT To refrain from inflicting or enforcing, as a punishment, sentence, etc., to refrain from exacting, as a payment or service, to pardon or forgive (a sin, offense, etc.), to give back: to remit an overpayment. Law. To send back (a case) to an inferior court for further action, to put back into a previous position or condition, to put off; postpone; defer. Obsolete. to set free; release, Obsolete. to send back to prison or custody. Obsolete. to give up; surrender.

RETAIN To keep possession of ,to continue to use, practice, etc.: to retain an old custom, to continue to hold or have: to retain a prisoner in custody; a cloth that retains its color, to keep in mind; remember, to hold in place or position, to engage, especially by payment of a preliminary fee: to retain a lawyer.

RELEASE To set free from confinement, restraint, or bondage: released the prisoners, to free from something that binds, fastens, or holds back; let go: released the balloons; released a flood of questions. To relieve of debt or obligation, to relieve of care and suffering.

To issue for performance, sale, publication, or distribution, to make known or available, to relinquish (a right or claim).

 A deliverance or liberation, as from confinement, restraint, or suffering, An authoritative discharge, as from an obligation or from prison, An unfastening or letting go of something caught or held fast, The act or an instance of issuing something for publication, use, or distribution, Relinquishment to another of a right, title, or claim.

Matthew 18:21-35

²¹ Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? ²² Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. ²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

²⁶ The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. ²⁷ Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. ²⁸ But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. ²⁹ And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. ³⁰ And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. ³¹ So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. ³² Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: ³³ Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? ³⁴ And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.³⁵ So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you , if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Prayer for Unforgiveness

Heavenly Father, I come before you with my heart as open as I can. I am holding unforgiveness towards (the person here). I realize that this has caused so many things to be blocked in my life because your word clearly say when we don’t forgive you can’t answer our prayers. Lord, I need your divine and supernatural help to forgive (the person name here). I have been walking around with pain, anger, bitterness, resentment and all kinds of wrong feelings in my heart towards this person. God I release this situation to you but most importantly Lord I forgive them for what they did to me and I give you the permission to clean my heart of all the pain associated with this person. God come in and heal the wounds directly connected to this scar. I ask you Holy Spirit to please help me as I release this person and let them go. I give you my heart and I humbly confess this before you.
